NEMA learns from Kyrgyz counterpart's mountain rescue experience

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A working group led by the director of Emergency Management Department of the Capital City, colonel J.Chultemsuren took part at the ‘Mountain rescue training and experience studying’ event organized under the memorandum of cooperation between the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The participants studied the international experiences on how to organize mountain search and rescue operations effectively in a short time, standards for clothes and equipments of mountaineers, how to ensure safety of rescuers, considerations on safety training and practices, and exchanged views on that matter.
The working group held an official meeting with the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, lieutenant colonel Akhmatov Kalys Orozbekovich and the authorities, introducing the Emergency Management Department operations, and exchanged views on training specialists and rescuers in the future.
In 2018, NEMA plans to organize rescue exercise in the high mountains, improve skills of rescuers, ensure their safety, cooperate with professional alpinists in order to support the development of mountain sports, conduct conference and trainings for mountaineers.
