We talked with some of Russians born and raised in Mongolia, descendants of war hero. Nina, daughter of Leonid Mikhailovich Emelyanov, who fought in WWII said "My father was born in Mongolia in 1923.  When the Great Patriotic War began in 1941, my father was living in Mongolia with his parents, he was only 18 at that time and he went straight to the front of the war. He fought until May 9, 1945 when Soviet Union reached Berlin. After the war he returned to his homeland Mongolia with highest Soviet orders such as 'Order of the Red Star' and 'Order of the Patriotic War'.  Since then he lived in Ulaanbaatar and used to work as a driver and passed away in 2009."

Nina was born in Mongolia and studied at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. After graduation from her university she worked as a doctor. Annually, on the victory day she pays tribute to the Marshal G.K.Zhukov's Monument, holding his father's portrait.

We also met with a Kazakh man who was holding his brother's portrait. His brother Khamza Zaisanov Raishan was born in Ulaankhus soum of Bayan-Ulgii aimag. In 1931-1933 he graduated from Soviet Union's Orenburg summer school and Tambov Military School.  After the graduation from his school he joined the Mongolian Air Force. He fought in Great Patriotic War from the beginning until the victory. Even after the war in 1948-1951 he studied at the Moscow State Military Institute.
