Mayor meets Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 10, 2018 Mayor of the capital city and Governor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold met  Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan.

Mayor of the capital city and Governor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold expressed his gratitude for the developing relations and cooperation of the two countries and said that this year marks the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Vietnam and 20th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between Ulaanbaatar and Hanoi. "Our two countries, as well as cities have long historical relations. In recent years, cooperation between the two cities has weakened, but today's visit is very important for creating a new history. The two cities have the potential to expand cooperation in education, culture and tourism" emphasized Mr.Batbold.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan said "The people of Mongolia helped Vietnam during the hard times and our people will never forget it. We are proudly observing the rapid development of Ulaanbaatar city. I believe that our cities have full potential to cooperate in education, culture, tourism and in economic sectors."

The meeting was attended by Head of the Ulaanbaatar City Governor's Office M.Otgonbayar, Head of the Policy planning department G.Ulziibayar, Head of the Foreign Affairs department Sh.Sukhbaatar, Head of the Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department D.Batsukh, Deputy Head of the Education Department of Ulaanbaatar L.Dashdemberel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from Vietnam to Mongolia Doan Thi Huong, Member of the Standing Committee of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Lan Hung, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Dong Thanh and other officials.

In 1982 Ulaanbaatar city established relations with Hanoi city and in 1998 they signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Friendly Relations between Ulaanbaatar and Hanoi cities.'
