R.Jigjid receives the Order of the Rising Sun

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Former Mining Minister R.Jigjid received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star of the Government of Japan on June 7. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Masato Takaoka conferred the order to R.Jigjid for his contribution to promoting friendly relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Mongolia.
R.Jigjid contributed greatly to the development of Mongolia-Japan relations while serving as Ambassador of Mongolia to Japan, Mining Minister and other high political positions.
After receiving the order he said “I am grateful to be honored with the highest order of Japanese government for the small contribution I made to the development of Mongolia-Japan relations. I will do my best to contribute to the development of Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation further. Political and cultural relations between two countries have been highly developed, while private sector and economic cooperation are lacking. Therefore, as a representative of the private sector, I will make a tangible contribution to the greater development of the business relations through expansion of the economic cooperation and increase of trade between Mongolia and Japan.”
The Order of the Rising Sun has been conferred to five Mongolian nationals.
