Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) and the National Palace Museum of Taiwan established a memorandum of cooperation on July 2. The memorandum was signed by President of MAS D.Regdel and Director of the Museum Lin Jeng-yi.
Subsequently, it enables to present exhibition of literary monuments and artifacts related to Mongolian history being preserved in the Museum in digital forms and to make a catalogue.
There are many literary monuments and artifacts related to Mongolian history especially to the Yuan dynasty being preserved in the Taiwan’s National Palace Museum. In the future, we plan to organize an exhibition in collaboration with the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum and the Mongolian National Museum. At the exhibition to be displayed in 2019, Mongolian historical monuments being kept in the Museum will be featured in digital form. The Museum also preserves original portraits of Chinggis Khaan, Kublai Khaan and other khans as well as historical heritage of the Yuan Dynasty. Publishing it in a book, Mongolian readers will have an opportunity to learn deeply the history of their country, Mr.Lin Jeng-yi said.
Vice-President of MAS G.Chuluunbaatar noted that our scientists compiled the first two volumes of three catalogues while working at the National Palace Museum of Taiwan. The volume will include portrait of Chinggis Khaan, picture of Mongolian great khans and queens, historical monuments and sources, books and treatises of that time. Generally, it will be rare source of Mongolian history since the 13th century.
Furthermore, the Institute of History and Archaeology of the MAS is implementing a series of projects titled ‘Mongolian Heritages in Foreign Countries’. Through the projects, the Institute created catalogues of historic sources being preserved in European countries, Saint Petersburg, Hungary, Iran and Iraq.
