Expert meeting on cultural interactions along the Silk Road held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The ‘Interactive Atlas of Cultural Interactions along the Silk Road’ expert meeting is being held on July 16-17 at the Bayan-Gobi tourist camp in Burd soum of Uvurkhangai aimag.

The UNESCO Silk Road Online platform started a project to develop Interactive Atlas of Cultural Interactions  along the Silk Road, building on the studies undertaken on the Silk Roads legacies and using the potential of information and communication technologies.

The meeting is organized by Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO jointly with the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), Institute of Historical Science and Archeology, International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations and the University of Science and Technology under the topic of food production and gastronomy.

Over 20 scholars and experts from Mongolia, Iran, China, Turkey, Greece, Kazakhstan, India, Korea and Russia are participating in the meeting and discussing about knowledge, know-how and cultural relations related to food production in the countries along the Silk Road.
