Medical university hospital to come into full operation by 2020

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ With assistance of non-refundable aid from the Government of Japan, Hospital and Training complex of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences center is currently under construction in 12th khoroo of Bayanzurkh district. Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa and Acting Director of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences J.Tsolmon got acquainted with the progress of construction work and heard comments made by executives of the construction company. The university hospital will be capable of serving over 180 thousand patients a year, including 600 per day, 4300 inpatients and performing 2300 surgeries and over 10 thousand imaging tests.
"It has been three years since the project commencement. It will be a Japan-standard, technologically advanced hospital where all types of diagnostic tests are carried out and having a 104-bed clinic and four fully equipped operating rooms. Training of physicians who will work with the high tech equipment is being studied. The training will start in the beginning of 2019. When the hospital starts operating, number of patients who receive high-priced medical care abroad is expected to reduce” said the Minister.
