Speaker receives Cultural Envoy Kawauchi Shiro

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 14, Speaker of the Parliament M.Enkhbold met with Kawauchi Shiro, Cultural Envoy of Mongolia.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to Mr. Kawauchi Shiro for supporting natural disaster victims in Mongolia and running numerous humanitarian campaigns. Moreover, he noted that parliaments of the two countries focus on legal environment issues regarding the development of Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation.

Mr. Kawauchi Shiro introduced specific proposals on developing inter-citizen ties through promoting culture and some types of sports. 

The 45th anniversary of the agreement on the establishment of cultural relations between Mongolia and Japan will occur next year. Speaker M.Enkhbold requested the Cultural Envoy to actively participate in the events for expanding cultural and arts exchange as well as boosting local cooperation between the two countries during the anniversary, wishing him success and all the best.

In 2015, Japanese citizen Mr. Kawauchi Shiro was awarded with the Polar Star Order in recognition with his contribution to the bilateral cooperation and became a Cultural Envoy of Mongolia in 2017.
