60 motorcycles granted for specially protected areas of Mongolia

On November 23, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia Mr Stefan Duppel Hermann presented 60 motorcycles to Mr N.Tserenbat, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia. 

Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has granted a total of EUR 25 million non-refundable aid to the project “Biodiversity and Adaptation to Climate Change” which is being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia through the KfW Development Bank. 

Senior policy advisor in charge of Mongolia at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) Dorothy Schwill who is on visit to Mongolia informed that German Government decided to give an additional grant of EUR 6 million for further activities of the project, noting that the project is being implemented successfully.

The purpose of the Project is to strengthen the management of Protected Area Network of Mongolia, the conservation of biodiversity and at the same time to improve the livelihood of local population and the 60 moto cycles will be used in eight specially protected area administrations.
