L.Otgonbaatar wins bronze at World Championships Seniors Baku

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s judoka L.Otgonbaatar (-100kg) claimed a bronze medal at the World Championships Seniors Baku 2018, held in Baku, Azerbaijan on September 20-26.

In the first round, L.Otgonbaatar defeated L.A. Smith from the USA by wazari in additional time. In the second event, he defeated Thomas Briceno from Chile by wazari. 

In following matches, he won Jevgenijs Borodavka of Latvia and Jorge Fonseca of Portugal. But he was defeated by Georgian judoka Varlam Liparteliani in the wrestling for a winner of the pool. Thus, he made wrestling with Japan’s judoka Wolf Aaron, as a result he grabbed a bronze medal.
