Foreign Minister visits Facebook Headquarters
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Foreign Affairs Minister of Mongolia D.Tsogtbaatar visited the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park at the invitation of the company and exchanged views on wide range of topics including developing digital diplomatic relations, promoting Mongolia through social media and conducting all kinds of trainings.
Facebook administrative officials including Global Head of Public Policy Programs Victoria Grand, Head of Public Policy for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mongolia George Chen, Senior Manager for Political and Government Affairs Sharon Yao were present at the meeting.
Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar pointed out that Mongolia is focusing on using digital media and social network for promoting Mongolia, ensuring the reliability and security of information and expressed his interest to cooperate on developing country branding, implementing beneficial projects and programs for users, establishing the first e-chembassy and electronic trade representative office. Mr. D.Tsogtbaatar also exchanged views on Facebook’s potential in strengthening friendly relations between the countries and promoting peace in the world.
Facebook Global Head of Public Policy Programs Victoria Grand said that over 80 million SMEs are actively using Facebook to expand their business, 1.6 billion people use it in their businesses, and expressed her interest to implement the training program, that has reached 100,000 women from 17 countries, in Mongolia from 2019.
In addition, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar met and held talks with Mongolian engineers and IT staff, working at the Facebook Headquarters.
