Preventive and early-detection checkups to run nationwide

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On October 1, the Ministry of Health reported press about commencing preventive and early-detection checkups nationwide.


Considering the leading five reasons of sickness and death of the population stated in the basic health index of Mongolia, the Ministry of Health has begun a nationwide activity from October 1 to involve citizens in preventive and early detection checkups under the funding of health insurance fund. The activity is planned to be organized every year.


People will be involved in specific checkup sets according to four age groups /18-34, 35-45, 46-64 and above 65/ as recommended by the World Health Organization. General medical checkups, health risk assessment and collected assessment on non-infectious diseases will be conducted for each person of all age categories. For instance, the checkup set for people aged 18-34 includes detection tests of sexually transmitted diseases and tuberculosis. People over 40 will give eight kinds of cancer detection tests. Based on the result, the next stage examinations will be carried out.
