Agriculture Minister S.Batzorig to resign
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Two issues were discussed at today’s
irregular meeting of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) group in the
parliament. The meeting discussed the President’s proposal to consult on
self-dissolution of the parliament and capital expenditure of the Small and
Medium Enterprises Development Fund, said Head of the MPP group
D.Khayankhyarvaa. He said “The Parliament Speaker will respond to the President’s
proposal in accordance with his plenary power. It was revealed that some MPs
took out loans from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund. Our
group members have expressed their positions that people responsible for this kind of illegal deeds should be liable. Moreover, we demand the MPs who got loans to pay the debt
in the near future and to get investigated by the relevant legal body. The PM made a statement that he would submit a proposal to dismiss

What measures will be taken for the MPs who got loans?
- This matter will be considered when the named MPs finish paying their debts.
Has the report on the Ministry of Finance’s investigation at
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund been released yet?
- It has not
been released yet. Subsequent to its release, relevant individuals will bear their responsibility.
What position did the group take on the President’s
proposal?
- Members of the
group view that the two arguments of the President can not be reasons to self-dissolve the parliament. Thus, the National Security Council shall
consider the issue and reach consensus. We shall pursue the political etiquette
of addressing Mongolia’s pressing issues through consultations.
Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry S.Batzorig
announced his decision to submit a letter of resignation at a press conference
he held later of the day at the State Palace.
