Environmental analysts of Mongolia and China meet

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Meeting of the environmental analysts of the Ministries of Environment of Mongolia and China was held on November 13. Senior specialist of the Climate Change and International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Environment and Tourism D.Ariuntuya delivered an opening speech.

Ms. D.Ariuntuya introduced Mongolia’s policy on creating friendly condition for nature by intensifying bilateral and multilateral cooperation, participating actively in the regional cooperation. “In this regard, we have developed environmental cooperation mechanism with Russia and Japan, and has defined joint projects and programs at policy level annually. Therefore, our goal is to establish a cooperative mechanism with the Chinese counterpart. I’m hopeful that at this meeting the specialists of the two countries will exchange information and define directions for cooperation,” she said.

In addition, it was suggested to initiate and realize 1-2 joint projects in 2019, which marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China.

Environmental analysts and experts of the two countries exchanged views on climate change, environmental pollution, introducing advanced technologies, strengthening capacity and discussed the cooperation priorities.
