Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ This year marks the 26th anniversary of Mongolians started wrestling in Japanese professional sumo and the 25th anniversary of establishment of the Mongolian Sumo Federation.

On the occasion of the anniversary, ‘Sumo-25’ drawing competition was held among children. More than 300 children sent their works to the competition that has goals to increase understanding of Japanese professional sumo, to back children' attitude and interests in sports and to promote success of Mongolian sumo wrestlers to children.

Student of a piano class at the Mongolian State Conservatory Kh.Khuslen won the first place in the competition and received right to visit Tokyo Disneyland.

Through his drawing, he aimed to show Kyokushuzan Batbayar as he is working as a cultural envoy of Mongolia and Japan. Kh.Khuslen said “I wanted to express an idea that If Kyokushuzan Batbayar did not succeed in sumo wrestling and lead Mongolian youths, Mongolian sumo wrestlers would not have become champions today.”
