Gross industrial output increases by MNT 2.3 trillion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first 11 months of 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT 14.1 trillion, showing an increase of MNT 2.3 trillion (19.5 percent) from the same period of the previous year. This increase was mainly due to an increase of mining and quarrying gross output by MNT 1.6 trillion (18.3 percent), of which, mining of coal increased by MNT 1.3 trillion (57.9 percent) and mining of metal ores increased by MNT 175.7 (3.2 percent) billion.

 

In November 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT 1.3 trillion, decreased by MNT 200.9 billion (13.0 percent) compared to the previous month.

 

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in November 2018 was 179.5 (2010=100), increased by 11.3 percent from the same period of the previous year and by 15.1 percent from the end of the previous year, whereas, it decreased by 5.9 percent from the previous month.

 

In the first 11 months of 2018, in mining sector, extraction of copper concentrate, gold, zinc concentrate, coal and gravel are increased by 0.2-20.9 %. In manufacturing sector, production of combed cashmere, beer, fodder, alcoholic beverage, sausage products, vacuum windows and doors, cashmere products, buuz and dumpling and wooden products are increased by 9.6-46.3 percent.

 

On the other hand, in mining sector, extraction of molybdenum concentrate, fluorspar, crude oil and iron are decreased by 7.2-18.7%. In manufacturing sector, productions of copper cathode, horse meat and wooden window and door are decreased by 3.4-92.2 percent.

 

In the first 11 months of 2018, the sales of industrial production reached MNT 16.3 trillion, from which MNT 11.2 trillion (68.5 percent) of sales were export.
