Some 512.5 million pieces of securities traded at national stock market

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAMEA/ The money supply (broad money or M2) reached MNT 18.6 trillion at the end of November 2018, showing an increase of MNT 321.8 billion (1.8 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 3.8 trillion (25.9 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of November 2018, the national currency in circulation reached MNT 895.1 billion, showing an increase of MNT 7.3 billion (0.8 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 70.4 billion (8.5 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of November 2018, the amount of outstanding loan to entities, enterprises and citizens amounted MNT 16.7 trillion, increased by MNT 263.1 billion (1.6 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 3.2 trillion (23.9 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of November 2018, the principals in arrears amounted MNT 974.0 billion, decreased by MNT 70.1 billion (6.7 percent) from the previous month and increased by MNT 80.2 billion (9.0 percent) from the same period of the previous year. The principals in arrears makes up to 5.8 percent of total loans, showing a decrease of 0.5 points from the previous month and by 0.8 points from the same period of the previous year.

At the end of November 2018, the non-performing loans at the banks system amounted MNT 2.0 trillion, increased by MNT 106.6 billion (5.4 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 911.0 billion (78.8 percent) from the same period of the previous year. The non-performing loans at the banking system makes up to 12.4 percent of total loans, showing an increase of 3.8 points from the same period of the previous year.

In the first 11 months of 2018, 512.5 million pieces of securities worth of MNT 236.5 billion were traded at the national stock market, which is decreased by MNT 1.2 trillion (83.2 percent) compared to the same period of previous year. The number of traded securities increased by 419.5 million (5.5 times more) pieces compared to the same period of previous year. In November 2018, 38.3 million pieces of securities worth of MNT 5.4 billion were traded at the national stock market, which is decreased by MNT 4.4 billion (44.9 percent) and whereas if increased by 1.7 (4.8 percent) million pieces compared to the previous month.

Trade of government bonds in secondary markets amounted MNT 148.9 billion in the first 11 months of 2018, which decreased by MNT 595.0 billion (80.0 percent) compared to the same period of previous year.

In November 2018, MNT 0.9 billion worth of government bond was traded at secondary market, while MNT 2.2 billion worth of government bond was traded at secondary market in October 2018.

In November 2018, average of top 20 indexes of the financial markets was 20 051.9 units, decreased by 411.7 units from the previous month and increased by 1 986.8 units from the same period of 2017.

In November 2018, total value of joint stock companies operating in stock market reached MNT 2.3 trillion, decreased by MNT 78.6 billion (3.3 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

Nominal average exchange rate of MNT to US dollars announced from Bank of Mongolia in November 2018 was MNT 2 581.88 to one USD (USD 1), which is depreciated by 5.4 percent from the same period of the previous year and by 0.7 percent from the previous month. Nominal average exchange rate of MNT to Chinese Yuan announced from Bank of Mongolia in November 2018 was MNT 372.0 to one CNY (CNY 1), which is depreciated by 0.6 percent from the same period of the previous year and by 0.4 percent from the previous month.

Nominal average exchange rate of MNT to Russian Ruble announced from Bank of Mongolia in November 2018 was MNT 38.93 to one RUB (RUB 1), which is appreciated by 6.3 percent from same period of the previous year and by 0.1 percent from the previous month.
