Flight frequency and capacity on route Ulaanbaatar-Seoul to be increased

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and South Korea have agreed to increase flight frequency and capacity between the two countries during a bilateral meeting of corresponding ministries and agencies on January 16-17 in Seoul. Earlier, Minister of Road and Transport Development Ya.Sodbaatar held talks about this issue during his working visit to South Korea in December 2018.

According to D.Myagmarsuren, Head of Air Transport Policy Implementation and Coordination Division at the Ministry of Road and Transport Development, Mongolian side will have 11 weekly flights on route Ulaanbaatar-Seoul while South Korea will have 9 weekly flights and available seats on the route will be expanded up to 2500 in one-way, which has been 1548-1656 seats depending on aircrafts.

"The increase in flight frequency and capacity on the route will add 94 thousand seats in a year, meeting the growing demand. Another important issue resolved during the talks was that Korean side declared to enter new carrier in Ulaanbaatar-Seoul,“ said Mr.D.Myagmarsuren.

Moreover, the sides agreed to increase flight frequency on route Ulaanbaatar-Busan to three times in a week with up to 195 seat-planes and to launch cargo flight between Ulaanbaatar and Seoul.
