Nalaikh road construction to be complete in November

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Minister
of Road and Transportation Development Ya.Sodbaatar reported about the progress
of a project ‘Construction of 20.9km auto road between Gachuurt junction and
Nalaikh -Choir’ at the regular meeting of the Cabinet on January 23.
In regard with the report,
the Cabinet made a decision to set up a working group to be headed by the Deputy
Minister of Road and Transportation Development, which will be responsible for
overseeing the project implementation
Corresponding ministers were
also assigned to urgently renew a commercial agreement with the project
contractor ‘Sinohydro Corporation Limited’ and establish a specific loan
agreement of the project with China’s ‘Export-Import’ Bank.
The Cabinet obliged to finish
preparations for Nalaikh road expansion and development in winter time, start
constructional work in April and complete it in November this year.
Until the road is commissioned, public traffic movement will run temporarily through earth pathway
along the main line.
The Nalaikh road is a main gateway
that links Ulaanbaatar city to eastern and southern provinces, Nalaikh,
Baganuur and Bagakhangai districts and Terelj-Gorkhi tourism region.
The road was built in 1959 and since then it has not been rehabilitated.
