Deputy Minister J.Saule participates in 11th Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Conference

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/  Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry J.Saule attended the 11th Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Conference held under the theme ‘Agriculture Goes Digital – Smart Solutions for Future Farming’ in Berlin, Germany on January 19.

Aside from taking part in an expert meeting on data security and data sovereignty during the conference, the Deputy Minister held meetings with representatives of Germany Belarus, Canada, Kazakhstan, China, France, Montenegro, and other countries on expansion of bilateral cooperation.


At the meeting with Michael Stübgen, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, both sides agreed to actively cooperate in successfully implementing third phase of the German-Mongolian cooperation project ‘Sustainable Agriculture’. Therefore, an agreement on implementation of the project was established between the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH, an independent consulting company of Germany in charge of the project implementation.

Meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Grakun, Deputy Minister J.Saule exchanged views on addressing barriers to import of Belarusian agricultural equipment. They also discussed the opportunities of developing intensive animal farming in Mongolia and setting up joint milk factories.

Moreover, the Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry met with Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations José Graziano da Silva, talking about French and EU candidates competing for the FAO Director-General position and cooperation between Mongolia and FAO.

In her meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, the Deputy Minister underlined the great significance of expanding bilateral trade and cooperation and the both sides agreed on the necessity of organizing a meeting between the Ministries.
