‘King Tug’ N.Tugstsogt becomes IBO world champion
SportsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s boxer N.Tugstsogt ‘King Tug’ made his 11th pro contest at ‘Barclays Center’ in New York on January 26.
N.Tugstsogt, a
2012 Olympic silver medalist, defeated his Dominican contender Claudio Marrero in
12 rounds, winning the vacant IBO world featherweight champion.
Over 200 Mongolians cheered the fight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. For instance, Mongolians including bronze medalist of world championship E.Tsogtjargal, Olympic medalist E.Badar-Uugan, national wrestlers Ch.Sanjaadamba and R.Purevdagva and others witnessed the contest in Brooklyn, New York.
Boxer
N.Tugstsogt won a silver medal in the flyweight boxing at the 2012 Summer
Olympics. Since he became professional boxer in 2014, he had ten fights so
far, winning all by knockout except one.
