Insomnia Treatment Center opens
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of World Sleep Day on March 15, Insomnia Treatment Center opens at the Hospital for State Special Servants. The center will provide complex services of diagnosis and treatment of sleeping sickness for the first time in Mongolia.
With financing of EUR 7 million from Australia, the hospital made renovation of equipment last year, purchasing multi-functional apparatus for monitoring and assessing insomnia and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines from Germany and Japan.
“Sleep is a base of healthy lifestyle. Sleep disorders cause many difficulties such as hypertension, heart attack, cerebral apoplexy, diabetes, declines of speculative and cognitive ability. The newly established Insomnia Treatment Center at our hospital has full potential to diagnose and treat all types of sleeping sickness. Particularly, patients with loud snoring and sleep apnea will be treated with CPAP machine. The center will serve for all people with sleep disorders besides state special servants,” Director of the hospital, Lieutenant-Colonel L.Battur said.
