Protest demanding decrease of loan interest takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A protest demanding to decrease loan interest rates took place on April 1. With the signs, ‘Officials that took SME loans pay annual interest rate of 3 percent, real business owners pay 30 percent’, ‘Make mortgage interest rate 3 percent’ and ‘Lower the interest rate of salary and pension loans to 9 percent’, the protesters went around the State House and the Sukhbaatar Square with their cars.
They announced that they will organize a larger protest in the near future. A similar “car-protest” of over 300 drivers was done against the increase in petrol price last November.
