Speaker meets representatives of World Bank
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 4, Speaker of the State
Great Khural G.Zandanshatar met with a delegation led by Martin Raiser, World
Bank's Country Director for China and Mongolia and Director for Korea.
At the beginning of the meeting, Speaker G.Zandanshatar expressed
his hope for successful implementation of the Extended Fund Facility program,
emphasizing the bank is a reliable partner of Mongolia.
Mr. Martin Raiser noted the scope of cooperation between
Mongolia and the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group has
expanded three-fold along with the cooperation of many years between Mongolia and
the World Bank and highlighted the importance of the parliament’s support in the
Government of Mongolia successfully stabilizing the economy. He also said the
second report of the Economic Management Support Development Policy Financing
Operation (EMSO) program is expected to be given this June and noted the
speaker’s view is significant for formation of the new Country Partnership
Framework for Mongolia.
The Speaker spoke of the Three-Pillar Development Policy
which aims to strengthen stable, accountable and disciplined governance, enhance
economic competitiveness, and improve standard of living of the citizens, as
well as the goals of increasing tourist flow to Mongolia and becoming a food
exporting country.
Present at the meeting were Andrei Mikhnev, WB Country Manager for Mongolia and Rufat Alimardanov, IFC Resident Representative for Mongolia.
