U.Batzul grabs silver from Asian Wrestling Championship

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.The Asian Wrestling Championships kicked off in Xi’an, China on April 23. From the team of athletes representing Mongolia, U.Batzul has won the silver medal.

On the first day of the championship, the matches for men’s 57 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 79 kg and 97 kg weight classes took place. Of the five athletes that stepped onto the mat, U.Batzul qualified for the final match. Despite winning his matches against Satyawart Kadian of India and Gao Haobin of China, he lost in the gold medal match against Reza Yazdani of Iran by the score of 4:7.

On the second day, the matches for men’s 61 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg and 125 kg will be taking place. As for the female athletes, they will be testing their strength on April 25-26.
