24 thousand children receive free dental treatment
SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Within the Mongolia’s National Program ‘Healthy
Tooth – Healthy Child’ over 24
thousand children have had healthy teeth nationwide so far, reported the
National Center for Public Health.
Aimed to give one-time free
dental treatment to children aged from 2 to 12, the Ministry of Health is
implementing the program until 2023. Alongside giving dental treatments, a lot
of actions are planned, including to educate public on the habits of oral
hygiene and take preventive measures from dental caries.
A total of 243 dental
hospitals took part in the selection of the program, of which 199 were
qualified for service. Currently, 161 hospitals built contracts and started
giving dental services. This year, the program targets dental treatments of
younger children or aged between 2 and 6.
