High-level group meeting for statistics to take place in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 14th meeting of High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-building for statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is to be held in Mongolia on May 22-25.


The high-level group comprises of heads of statistics offices and its departments of 24 countries representing 13 regions. Chair of the National Statistics Office of Mongolia A.Ariunzaya has been selected as chair of the high-level group.


More than 30 guests and representatives from the high-level group, international and donor organizations will attend the meeting. Moreover, statisticians and heads of statistics offices of over 20 countries including the United States, Angola, Argentina, Denmark, Hungary, Ecuador, Kenya, the Republic of South Africa, Suriname, Myanmar, Great Britain, the Kingdom of Morocco, Sri Lanka, Italy, Palestine and the Swiss Confederation will gather.


At the High-level Group's Meeting, the attendees will discuss about membership of the high-level group and their role and engagement and the issues related to database monitoring for the third UN World Data Forum which will be held in Switzerland in 2002 and making financing for statistics and statistical resources of the UN system more effective.
