Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The biennial International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology is being held on June 14-15 with a key goal to discuss environmental challenges, thus, boost scientific achievements together with socio economic and regional development.

The best way of narrowing environmental hazards and adapting to climate change in the face of global warming, rapid economic and population growth, and scarcity of natural resources that threaten global ecosystem, is to secure sustainable use, protection and reclamation of natural resources and introduce eco-friendly advanced technology. Human impact, global warming, and climate change are causing many negative consequences around the world. Developing only a country strategy to cope with the problem is unreasonable. It is best to determine the nature of the problem on scientific basis and devise coping strategies through introduction of new technologies and innovations. Therefore, the conference is giving the opportunity to discuss research-based methods and technologies, the organizers noted.

This year’s sub-session is touching upon socio-economic, regional cooperation and development issues aside from natural sciences. It is also allowing the international scientific institutions to share their achievements and experience, exchange their knowledge, and embark on joint projects and programs.

The conference is involving over 200 representatives comprising scholars and professors from Mongolia, Russia, Inner Mongolia, China, Japan, Germany, South Korea, India, Canada, and Buryatia, and officials from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports, Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and international organizations.
