Foreign Minister receives delegates of Thailand

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar received the delegates led by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Mongolia Piriya Khempon on July 19, exchanging views on bilateral cooperation.
On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Thailand, the Thailand cultural day event was organized for the first time at the central square. Minister D.Tsogtbaatar noted that the event is important in promoting friendship between the people of the two countries and increasing mutual understanding.
The parties emphasized the need to develop mutually beneficial economic cooperation as the expanding bilateral cooperation and growing trade volume are not sufficient.
Foreign Minister informed the Ambassador about the successful commencement of Mongolia-Thailand joint solar power plant in Khushigt Valley with the ADB financing. Minister D.Tsogtbaatar also expressed willingness to further implement joint projects that will contribute to the country’s development.
Ambassador Piriya Khempon emphasized that Thailand is paying special attention to increasing trade and investment and expanding the scale of economic cooperation. In this regard, the ambassador paid visit with group of EXIM Thailand representatives, meeting with officials in public and private sector and seeking cooperation opportunities.
