Education Minister meets President of Russian Academy of Sciences

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On September 6, Minister of Education, Sports,
Culture and Sciences Yo.Baatarbileg met delegates led by the President of
Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), academician A.M.Sergeyev.
At the meeting, Russian academicians
who have arrived Mongolia to take part in a scientific conference in
dedication to 50th anniversary of Mongolia-Russia joint biological
and paleontological expeditions, and Mongolian representatives including chief
of Science and Technology Policy Department of the ministry S.Munkhbat,
President of Mongolian Academy of Sciences
and vice President of MAS exchanged views on the development of
scientific sectors of the two countries and bilateral cooperation.
In particular, the sides
expressed commitment to paying attention on learning from Russian experiences to improve legal
environment of Mongolia’s scientific sector, developing young scientists and
building possibility to implement a joint research project.
Mongolia has been cooperating
with Russian Foundation for Basic Research of the RAS for over a decade to
implement joint projects. A selection of projects to be implemented from 2020
is intended to be announced in October this year and Mongolian side put forward
a request to increase its investment further.
