Citizens compete in cycling

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of the 380th anniversary of foundation of Ulaanbaatar city, the 8th Citizens’ Sports Games is being organized between October 19 and 23.
Governor’s Office of the capital city and the Mongolian Cycling Federation (MCF) organized bike parade and bicycle race on October 19 with participation of over 300 professional athletes and amateurs.
President
of the Mongolian Cycling Federation P.Gankhuu said that the number of cycling
athletes has been increasing to 300 thousand. Cyclists of the MCF regularly take part in around 40 foreign and domestic tournaments a
year, showing increased successes. The MCF started
talks with authorities of the capital city and international organizations on
having a training center to enable athletes to do training not depending on weather.
The MCF is marking its 60th anniversary this year and the event is significant to increase public attendance and promote importance of cycling to the citizens in order to form healthy living habits by developing physical education and sports.
The 8th Citizens’ Sports Games is being held under eight sports types.
