Energy Minister meets representatives of Finnish corporation

/MONTSAME/ On November 5, Minister of Energy Ts.Davaasuren met with a
delegation led by Kari Punnonen, Regional Director for North East Asia, Wärtsilä
Energy Solutions.
At the
meeting, the progress of an energy sources research being jointly conducted by experts of the Mongolian Energy Ministry and Wärtsilä at the initiative
of Energy Minister Ts.Davaasuren and Non-resident Ambassador of Finland to Mongolia
Jarno Syrjälä.
The collaborative
research is aimed at finding possible energy resource alternatives for
2020-2030 from data-driven reliable, environmentally friendly energy source
models to cope with the continuously growing energy demand. The energy minister
recommended taking into account renewable energy - especially wind and hydroelectric
- power stations and other resources that would use accumulators and gas
turbines in addition to coal-fired power station extensions and the stations to
be newly built and focusing on development of models with reasonable costs.
The experts highlighted
that a more fitting alternative could be the combination of generators and wind
power for now and that the final results of the research will be presented
within two to three months.
