City administration to cooperate with scientists

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Each year, the last week of November is celebrated as a Scientists’ Day. In this regard, the city authorities got acquainted with operations of institutes of Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
During the visit to Institute of Geography and Geoecology, and Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the delegation headed by M.Khaliunbat, manager in charge of innovation and technology project of the city, hold discussion on developing creative cooperation between scientists and local authorities and exploring science based solutions to develop Ulaanbaatar.
The scientists introduced some technologies for implementing human-centered policies, environment-centric solutions, and planning-centered development policies to address many issues such as soil and water pollution, gardening, urban planning, population influx etc. The parties agreed to make a short, medium and long-term plan for collaboration between scientists and the city and a joint working group on soil pollution issues has been formed. Moreover, joint sociological survey on unemployment and education will be conducted.
