State Secretary visits Mongolian studies department of Eötvös Loránd University

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports B.Bayarsaikhan visited the Department of Mongolian and Inner Asian Studies of the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) of Hungary and met with Birtalan Ágnes, head of the department and president of the International Association for Mongol Studies, discussing the events to be organized in honor of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Hungary.

The sides also talked about intensifying the publication of the source materials about Mongolia’s history in Hungarian, translating them into four languages. State Secretary B.Bayarsaikhan said, “Under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mongolian scientific workers have successfully held their first symposium. The government pays special attention to the sector’s development. Not long ago, Mongolian Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg established a memorandum of cooperation with the Harvard University on promoting Mongolian studies, increasing the number of Mongolian studies departments around the world to 27.” She expressing her hope that Ms. Birtalan Ágnes will be actively engaged in developing Mongolian studies internationally, increasing the number of Mongolists, and promoting the history and culture of Mongolia as the President of the International Association for Mongol Studies.
