Monthly minimum standard of living set in Ulaanbaatar city at MNT 230.000

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Statistical Office of Mongolia has approved ‘Minimum living standard for population’ for 2020. According to the Mongolia’s law on setting minimum standard of living, the National Statistical Office of Mongolia establishes the minimum living standard for population on the basis of minimum consumption. 


Compared to the last year’s minimum living standard, the new standard reflected following growths, 


MNT 14.1 thousand (7.5%) in the eastern region,

MNT 12.7 thousand (6.6%) in the western region,

MNT 11.8 thousand (6.1%) in the Khangai region,

MNT 11.2 thousand (6.0%) in the central region,

MNT 12.1 thousand (5.6%) in Ulaanbaatar city.


The minimum living standard is used for determining amounts of minimum wage, social insurance and welfare allowances, pension and benefits, and other government assistance to people. 


The minimum standard of living is adjusted for 2020 to be the highest in Ulaanbaatar city. Monthly standard of living is: 


MNT 230.000 in Ulaanbaatar 

MNT 206.000 in the Khangai region 

MNT 203.400 in the western region 

MNT 201.700 in the eastern region and 

MNT 198.300 in the central region.
