Free early detection cancer tests to be offered for eligible people
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 17, Parliament adopted bills on amendments to Law on Health and Law on Health Insurance. The draft laws regulate public involvement in analysis and screening for early detection of different kinds of cancer.

Workshop organized to advance health technology assessment
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 17, a two-day capacity building workshop on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) was organized for policy makers, researchers, health economists and clinicians from different health organizations including MoH, CHD, HIGA, university and hospitals, to enable them provide well-informed evidence in health decision making by equipping them with practical skills in the deployment of HTA tools based on selected cases and international practices.
Initial talks held on ‘Future Proofing’ health system of Mongolia

MUST offering joint programs with Japanese universities

France to provide emergency rescue helicopters and vehicles
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia (NEMA) has been working to implement a project aimed at supporting the field of emergency management in cooperation with the Directorate of Civil Defense and Security of France. A financial agreement of the project was signed on October 16 at the State House in Ulaanbaatar, by Mongolia’s Finance Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar and Ambassador of France to Mongolia Philippe Merlin.
CO measurement devices to be provided to health centers in UB
On October 16, the Cabinet resolved funding of MNT 330 million for purchasing and installing Carbon Monoxide Detection and Measurement Devices at the Newborn and Maternity Health Center, National Center for Public Health, health centers and clinics of districts. The funding will be drawn from the government’s reserve fund.
Postage stamp dedicated to diplomatic anniversary of Mongolia and China issued

Arbitration procedures and practices in Mongolia discussed

On October 16, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) hosted a meeting under the theme “Court participation in arbitration and challenges” with participation of public and private sector representatives. The event also coincided with the 90th anniversary of the establishment of domestic arbitration in Mongolia and 60th anniversary of international arbitration in Mongolia.
Mongolia, China marking 70 year anniversary of diplomatic relations
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today marks 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China. Exchanging notes to establish diplomatic relations on 16 October, 1949, Mongolia become the eighth country that recognized and formally established diplomatic ties with the PRC after it was newly founded in 1949.

ADB approves program to improve access to quality health services in UB, provinces
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved its first multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) in the health sector in Mongolia. The $158.34 million MFF will provide high-quality health care services in selected disadvantaged ger areas of Ulaanbaatar, provinces, and subdistricts to support the Government of Mongolia’s commitment to universal health coverage.
Mongolia welcomes 480 thousand foreign tourists this year
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In its monthly report for September 2019, National Statistical Office of Mongolia informed that 4.7 million passengers (double counting) have crossed the border of Mongolia in the first 9 months of 2019. The number was increased by 104.4 thousand or 2.3 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
