Export of leather and medicinal herbs to Turkey discussed

/MONSTAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ch.Ulaan met with Minister
of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey Bekir Pakdemirli.
Emphasizing that
the two countries have long-standing friendly relations, the Turkish Agriculture
Minister said there is a breadth of opportunities to expand investment, trade
and economic cooperation and undertook to work on that. Specifically, he
was interested in signing a health protocol for the export of Mongolian meat and meat
products to Turkey and importing a great amount of leather, hides, and medicinal
plants from Mongolia.
Minister
Ch.Ulaan informed the Turkish side of Mongolia’s agricultural export policy and
noted that the country is closely partnering with the World Organisation for
Animal Health in animal health to have the western region of Mongolia declared
free of animal diseases within the first quarter of 2020. He also noted that
Mongolia surely has both the capacity and interest in exporting leather and
hides to Turkey.
