Mongolian nationals to be eligible for Visa on Arrival in Qatar

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Foreign Ministries of Mongolia and the State of Qatar held their first Consultative Meeting in Doha, Qatar, on February 2.
Attending the consultative meeting with delegates of their countries, D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and Dr.Ahmad Hassen Al-Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the inter-ministerial consultative meeting. The establishment of the MoU fosters bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, culture and other sectors, deepens mutual understanding and builds a condition that will enable senior officials of the two countries to exchange views regularly on international relations’ issues mutually interested.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views
on the present state of bilateral relations and cooperation, concurred to focus
on utilizing the potentials of bilateral cooperation in trade, economy,
tourism, culture, education and defense sectors and simultaneously noted the importance
of building legal background to develop cooperation in the fields.
In this scope, the sides came into a decision
to establish agreements of cooperation in sports and cultural sectors and
co-work to establish agreements soon on exempting official and diplomatic passports
holders from visa requirement, cooperating in tourism and educational sectors, as well as on protecting
wild animals and plants.
Furthermore, the Qatari side informed its
decision to involve Mongolian nationals in its Visa on Arrival scheme.
The Mongolian side extended an invitation to the
Qatari party to participate in the World Export Development Forum and the
International Youth Green Games 2020 to be held in Mongolia.
