Exhibition opens at Berlin’s animal anatomy theaterArt & Culture
Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/.A special exhibition ‘Acting animals: Parasitology
between ecology and economy’ was opened at Animal Anatomy Theater of the Humboldt
University in Berlin on February 6.
The exhibition ‘Acting animals: parasitology between ecology and economy’ shows the exchange of scientific knowledge, technology transfer and trade relations between the Mongolian People's Republic (MVR) and the German Democratic Republic (GDR) between the late 1960s and 1980s.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 90th birthday of Prof. Dr. Theodor Hiepe, who as a scientist played a key role in researching and developing treatment methods for sheep diseases in Mongolia. Prof. Dr. Hiepe was the initiator, sponsor, and head of the ectoparasite control program. Under his leadership, the research laboratory for ectoparasite control in Mongolia was set up in 1970.
To be open until December 21, 2020, the exhibition is being co-organized by the Humboldt University of Berlin, Mongolian Cultural Envoy O.Oyuntuya, Arts & Media Project Management & Consulting NGO (AMPMC) and the Institute of Parasitology and Tropical Veterinary Medicine at the Free University of Berlin.
