Cabinet meeting in brief
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At its regular meeting on February
19, the Cabinet discussed the following issues.
-The Cabinet approved a plan of action to conform
legislations to the amendments in the Constitution of Mongolia. A total of 22
bills will be formulated and submitted to the Parliament.
-The Cabinet considered a bill to amend the Law on legal
status of foreign nationals and decided to submit it to the Parliament. The Bill
includes some regulations aimed to develop Mongolia visa rules and bring it
into international standards.
-Amgalan Thermal Power Plant, a subsidiary of 4th Thermal
Power Plant state-owned company, was decided to be a state-owned company. In
2019-2020, Amgalan TPP has distributed 716.5 thousand/Gcal energy, earning
sales income worth MNT19,969.2 million. Within the mid-term national program to
implement state policy on energy, a project will commence to build 50 MW new
thermal power plant as an expansion of the Amgalan TPP.
-The Cabinet approved a protocol on amending the agreement
between Mongolia and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the mutual assistance in
civil and criminal matters.
