Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ More than 80 Mongolians living abroad are competing in Vitality Running World Cup 2020 that began today in London, the capital of England, among over 300 thousand runners from 230 countries of the world. Amgalan Soyolsuren is captaining ‘Team Mongolia’.
The Vitality Running World Cup is on track to be the world’s biggest mass participation running event, open to everyone aged 13+ no matter where they are or how fast they can run. Only the runners should be able to run for 3 kilometers in 30 minutes.
The first stage of the running event, which aims to encourage active and healthy lifestyle, will last for one week from March 5th – 00:00am to March 11th – 23:59 pm. Following that the top 16 teams will enter a knockout style tournament, going head to head over the remaining weekends in March culminating in the grand final in early April.
The
score for each nation is calculated using a formula that includes the
qualifying kilometres run divided by the population of the country. In order to increase its score, a country
needs to either increase its number of runners or number of kilometres run.
Runners who achieved their goals will unlock a donation reward to UNICEF to help vaccinate children in need across the world.
