Mongolian Ambassador meets EEC Minister for Trade
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On March 24, Mongolian Ambassador to
the Russian Federation D. Davaa visited the central office of the Eurasian
Economic Commission in Moscow, where the Ambassador met with A. A. Slepnev, EEC
Minister in charge of Trade.
With aims to expand the trade and economic cooperation
between the EAEU and Mongolia, Mr.Slepnev proposed creating soon a joint
working group to study the issue of concluding a Free Trade Agreement and
determine economic efficiency and scope of this agreement.
Mr.Slepnev further noted that he intends to present the conclusion
of the working group and the agreement at the meeting of the EEC Council to be
held in September this year and take permission to commence official talks on establishing
free trade agreement with the Mongolian side.
Ambassador D. Davaa congratulated A.A. Stepnev on his
appointment as a member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the Eurasian
Economic Commission. He also thanked EEC for its collaboration to organize
a business forum ‘Russia-Mongolia. Doing business in the single EAEU market’
and a fair ‘Made in Mongolia’ during the official visit of the Prime Minister of
Mongolia U. Khurelsukh in December 2019. Ambassador D. Davaa also noted
that he was pleased that concrete steps are being taken to conclude a Free
Trade Agreement.
