Ulaanbaatar Mayor visits MNUMS Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 20, Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan worked at the Mongolia-Japan Teaching Hospital of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS). MNUMS's Director J.Tsolmon and Deputy Director of Clinical Services Ts.Erkhembileg showed the governor around the hospital.
The 104-bed teaching hospital can provide high quality services
and emergency medical assistance, and treat 26 diseases Mongolia could not cure
previously. State-of-the-art medical technologies such as Magnetic resonance
imaging and angiography were introduced to the hospital that adopts team
approach to patient-centered care.
MNUMS Deputy Director Ts.Erkhembileg noted that a
quarantine room was set up at the hospital as a precautionary measure against the
novel coronavirus.
The teaching hospital was opened in phases for stable
operation and quality healthcare services. Last summer saw the opening of the
hospital’s internal medicine outpatient department. The surgical department and
inpatient wards were opened in the second phase and emergency department in the
third phase. The healthcare institution currently provides high quality services brought
by Japanese management to the 60 thousand residents of Bayanzurkh district and
other patients.
Hospital authorities requested the Governor to help with authorization
of the funds necessary to purchase some equipment and reagents used
for medical diagnosis and analysis. According to MNUMS Director J.Tsolmon, the
teaching hospital is in need of some additional devices and tools to provide
every service offered.
Governor S.Amarsaikhan undertook to inform the State Emergency Commission and Ministers of Health and Education of the request and try every possibility to solve the problem. He also said the Ulaanbaatar city government will support stable operation of the institution in every way possible.
