IOM pledges to work with Mongolia in helping Mongolians abroad amid COVID-19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar on April 21 met with Victor Lutenco, Programme Manager at UN Migration Agency, International Organization for Migration, in Ulaanbaatar. 


At the meeting, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar noted that the government of Mongolia has been unable to evacuate every one of its citizens who wish to return home from abroad due to limited resources even though some of the Mongolian citizens abroad are being brought back to Mongolia in phases.


He also informed the Programme Manager of the government measures planned for helping the citizens stranded in a deteriorating condition and proposed to work together to reach and support those in need of priority assistance.


Mr. Victor Lutenco said IOM will look for every opportunity to cooperate with the Government within the proposed area.
