Loan agreement on Biocombinat renovation project signed

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On April 30, Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Tsogtbaatar and Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ch. Ulaan held an online meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador of Mongolia
to Hungary Z. Batbayar and the Executive Director of Eximbank Gergely Jákli
signed a loan agreement between the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia and the
Hungarian Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) on the Biocombinat state-owned factory
renovation project to be implemented with a 17.5-year Hungarian interest-free
loan of USD57 million.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Hungary that occurred
on April 28, the ministers of the two countries delivered heartfelt
congratulations to each other, expressing confidence in the further expansion
of bilateral relations and cooperation.
Mr.Tsogtbaatar expressed his satisfaction with the readiness
of implementing the Biocombinat renovation project and emphasized the
importance of the project. He also expressed interest in further developing and
deepening cooperation between the two countries in trade, economy, and
agricultural sectors, based on their 70 years of diplomatic relations.
The Hungarian side supported a proposal of the Mongolian
side to implement a joint project in developing Mongolia’s agricultural sector
as well as the logistic network of the sector through the improvement of water management.
The sides also agreed to hold an online meeting with the participation of
relevant officials of the two countries.
Noting the mutual support of the two countries within the
United Nations and other international organizations, Hungarian Foreign
Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary supports the Mongolian candidates to
international organizations.
The Hungarian side expressed its full support for our
efforts in the fight against cross-border illegal trade and crimes, which were
discussed during the previous meeting of the Foreign Ministers, and agreed to
establish direct contacts between the law enforcement bodies of the two
countries.
The Hungarian side also affirmed that it would continue granting annual government scholarships to 200 Mongolian students to study in the universities
of Hungary in the coming years, and the sides concurred to launch a partnership
between the Diplomatic Academies of the two countries to study the experience
of Hungary.
