Defense Ministry of China donates CNY 1 million worth of PPE to Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On May 26, the Ministry of Defense of the People’s Republic of China handed over medical-use personal protective equipment worth CNY 1 million to the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia as a non-refundable aid for Mongolia’s efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bilateral delegates led by Minister of Defense of Mongolia N.Enkhbold and Ambassador of China to Mongolia Chai Wenrui attended the handing over ceremony.
As the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia plays an important role in the country’s and its people’s fight against the pandemic and the Military Central Hospital of the Ministry is mobilized as a main isolation facility and treatment, the Chinese donation of protective gears, goggles, boots, facemasks, remote thermometers is regarded as a valuable contribution to help Mongolian military doctors and healthcare workers to deal with Covid-19 infections.
During the event, Ambassador Chai Wenrui said “The Government of Mongolia and its people have rendered emotional support and given a helping hand to China during challenging times when the country was hit hard by the pandemic at the beginning of this year. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Mongolia, the Military Central Hospital and all military officers and the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia have made a donation to the staffs of a military hospital in China, who were preforming their duties to combat with the virus in Wuhan city of Hubei Province. This act demonstrated the cooperation and friendly relationships of the defense sectors of Mongolia and China. It is remarkable that Mongolia has no recorded local transmission of COVID-19 infection. Our mutual assistance will not end with this. The defense cooperation between the two countries has been developing continuously in recent years and the sides have been closely collaborating through joint military exercises, training of personnel and reciprocal visits. The sides will boost the friendly relations in the defense area further.”
