MNCCI and Save the Children sign MoU to empower disadvantaged rural youth
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (MNCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Save the Children
in Mongolia to support the child-rights organization’s project ‘Entrepreneurship-Focused
Socioemotional Skills for Vulnerable Youth in Rural Mongolia’.
The 4-year project launched in 2019 aims to provide 6,000 vulnerable
youth aged between 14 and 25 in 25 soums across Khovd, Zavkhan, Uvurkhangai,
Govi-Sumber and Sukhbaatar aimags with entrepreneurship-focused socio-emotional
skills and the opportunity to start their businesses to help them successfully
enter the labor market. Also, as part of the project, a small grant mechanism
will be introduced to enable target youth to practice their entrepreneurship
knowledge in life and realize mini-projects.
Under the project, MNCCi will introduce the youth to
local companies, help their businesses with consulting, and provide guidelines
for the project implementing units.
During the signing event, MNCCI President O.Amartuvshin said the chamber has
plans to open its branches in 330 soums starting from this year and will
support the project through the branches.
