Online kindergarten registration not to be run in the capital city

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Capital City Education Department has provided information in regard with the start of the new academic year. And a decision was made not to organize online registration of kindergarten at the level of the capital city this year.
About it, Head of the Capital City Education Department J.Gantulga said “Enrollment in the state-owned kindergartens has been successfully conducted for the past three years. However, online enrollment will not be organized at the level of the capital city this year due to the special situation. In connection with the pandemic, the Government had made a decision that kindergartens will not to receive 2-year old children for the school year of 2020-2021."
Based on the guidelines given by the Ministry of Health, no more than 20 students are allowed in each classroom at all levels of educational institutions. Furthermore, in accordance with not registering 2-year olds, authorities of that kindergartens were obliged to make estimation on their capacity of learning rooms and teachers as well as to make its results ready on August 17. Depending on the capacity survey, registration of 6-year old children will be carried out. All children aged 5 years old will go to kindergartens as 6 year old is a school starting age in Mongolia.
Additionally, he informed that registration of first graders of the general education schools for the academic year of 2020-2021 has started online from today. And the online registration will run until August 28. The six year-olds born between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014 will enter school in the academic year of 2020-2021 and it is expected 39.439 children to enroll in the first grade of the general education schools.
