Environment Minister meets UK Ambassador
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. D.Sarangerel, Minister of Environment
and Tourism, today received Mr. Philip Malone, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia.
During the meeting, they discussed the projects and programs
being implemented within the bilateral cooperation, especially in the environment
sector and exchanged views on the opportunities for expansion of further collaboration.
Ambassador Philip Malone said, “We are grateful that the
cooperation between our two countries has been growing year by year. In
particular, I would like to say that we are happy to cooperate in the field of
environment and tourism. We are pleased that collaboration in the rational use
of natural resources, in particular the protection of biodiversity, the elimination
of illegal wildlife trade, and the strengthening of management and capacity
building, is fruitful. Also we are looking to implement projects and programs
to train environmental journalists.”
Minister D. Sarangerel thanked for its support in Mongolia’s response to the COVID-19 as well as for funding the Central and Northeast Asia Wildlife Week held September last year, supporting the establishment of a sub-regional wildlife cooperation mechanism.
