SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Puppet Theater of Mongolia and Good Neighbors Mongolia NGO today signed a cooperation agreement on implementation of 5-year project entitled “My sweet tooth trip”.
The project aims to improve oral health of child and reduce toothache among children. A play, a 20-episode children's television program, and an electronic and printed comic book will be created within the project.
“According to a study conducted in 2019, 92.9 percent of children in Ulaanbaatar have dental caries. In other words, nine out of ten children
have dental caries. This is a fact that children’s toothache is becoming one of the
pressing issues in Mongolia. Since oral
hygiene is vital for human health, we considered that it would be more accessible to deliver the information to children through arts. And we aim to provide knowledge to children
using different ways including a play and a comic book,” said Kh.Baavgai, General
Manager of Good Neighbors Mongolia NGO.
Stage director of the Puppet Theater M.Ariuntuya noted that children could protect and love their teeth as they get to know the importance and benefit of it. Therefore, the play will target to make the value of teeth and proper use of candy known to children.
The play “My sweet tooth trip” will be staged in the coming month.
